Subarachnoid Hemorrhage

Well, it's been awhile. I've had a lot suddenly going on and kind of put this blog to the wayside, but I am planning on picking right back up where I left off. Reality hit home to my somewhat perfect life when my healthy, 55 yr old, nonsmoking dad collapsed at home. Luckily, my mom was there at the time and called ems. It turns out that he suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm in his brain. He was life flighted to a specialist hospital and operated on 2 days later. It was touch and go for awhile and he suffered a major setback in the form of a vasospasm, but he is doing wonderfully now. He has movement in all his limbs, can now speak and sit up! It's amazing how quickly your life can turn upside down. My poor mom has been living in a hotel for the past 5 weeks. The picture above is the cat scan when he first got to the hospital. The white area at the bottom is the bleed. I will be updating more soon!
