Moments In Time

Do you enjoy researching historical things? Do you like to look at people that have made history? Then check this out, it's pretty cool! Can you imagine the pain that man endured just because of his race? Seeing it makes it all too real.

Best Ghost Picture?

In May 2008 someone took this photo at Tantallon Castle in Scotland. It was not until the photographer got home that he saw what is believed to possibly be the ghost of James V. What do you think? Read the story and see other pics here
It has been studied by 3 different experts who say that photo has not been tampered with. I almost want to believe it is a true apparition because it is not one of those obvious fake photos of dust(orbs), streaks of light, mist or double exposures.

Pet Peeve

If you are in a public restroom stall, sitting on a toilet and your cell phone rings, for the love of God, don't answer it and have a conversation while you are peeing! Especially, if there is someone in the stall next to you!

Investing

Food For Thought......

The offering price of MSFT stock was $21.00 per share at the IPO on March 13, 1986. If you had bought 1 share at the offering, you would now have 288 split-adjusted shares. So you would be worth 288 * 27.69 = $7,974.72 Someone who invested $10,000 in the company's IPO would own a stake worth roughly close to $3,000,000 today.

If you are under 50, right now is the time to start investing! With the recession in full swing, you can now buy decent stock at basement bottom pricing! Here are a few examples....

BAC Bank of America, currently at $7/share, 52 week high was $43

HOG Harley Davidson, currently at $13/share, 52 week high was $48

C Citigroup, currently at $3/share, 52 week high was $27

These are just examples, but if you buy at these low prices now, eventually they will get back to where they were, at least, that's my thought. You will be looking at a huge profit in the long run. I don't have the resources to upfront buy a lot and recommend sharebuilder. They offer a very reasonable automatic investment plan for any amount of money.

Here's to our future! Prepare now for retirement later. It comes faster then you think.

Genealogy!

If you have any interest at all in history/genealogy and especially if you have roots in West Virginia, definitely check this site out! I am addicted! I love and am interested in historical records! I have found a few death certificates of ancestors and some marriage and birth certificates. On my great grandfather's death certificate, you can see where my grandfather, who died in 2000 at the age of 72 signed it at the age of 17. It's so amazing! Check it out!

Kinda Cool

I'm not interested in debating but this is kind of cool. People can go to http://www.blueservo.net/ and monitor the TX/Mexico border and alert the authorities. It is a bit like big brother though.....which is kinda scary!

Great News!

My dad is on his way back from Gainesville today!!! He's been there since his subarachnoid aneurysm on January 21!! I have been so busy with work that I haven't been much up to blogging, hopefully that will change soon. A big project I have been working on comes to completion on Monday March 16 and then it's smooth sailing for a little while. On another awesome note, my oldest son, 12, was invited to join the National Jr. Honor Society and he is now playing football and going to spring practices! 2009 started off horrible, but it's turning into an awesome year!!

Something Wrong??

OK, Something is wrong. It is March and do you have any idea what our low temperature is going to be tonight? I live in Florida, spring breakers will start trickling in any day now to stimulate our ecomony and the low for tonight is, a warm, balmy 29 degrees! Yes, 29 degrees in Florida, in March........
